The Eastern Pacific Yacht Club (EPYC) today announced the departure on October 10th, 2009 of its 160’ flagship Pacific Provider from San Diego.

EPYC recently released its 2009/2010 schedule to its membership showing stops in Cabo San Lucas, Mag Bay, Puerto Vallarta, Costa Rica and Panama through August of 2010. The Club will be anchored in Herradura Bay, Costa Rica, for members to celebrate Christmas and New Year's prior to taking off for more remote fishing locations. While in Costa Rica the Pacific Provider will allow club members greater access to some new fishing grounds on several remote offshore sea mounts as well as a planned visit to Cocos Island.
By March the Club will reach its southernmost latitude in Panama with extensive stays in Coiba Island and other surrounding waters as fish movements and weather dictate the ship's location.
The Eastern Pacific Yacht Club is an exclusive membership club offering boaters a luxury social platform and provisioning at sea in the hottest fishing and cruising locations off the Mexican and Central American coastlines. The ship features six suites, a 50’ Viking, 43’ Riviera, 33’ Custom L & H and a 2 6’ Diesel Panga, 90,000 gallons of fuel, dining room and lounge, full tackle center, water toys, four 500 gallon bait tanks, fitness center, jacuzzi and a variety of other amenities.
“Our aim is to provide a new dimension to boating,” said Tom Ellsworth, EPYC founder and owner of Ellsworth Marine. “The club and its amenities will provide unparalleled access to the waters off the Western U.S., Mexico and Central America. By using the club’s game boats, members can fish remote locations without putting long range hours on their own vessel. EPYC brings the experience of elite Mothership ownership to a greater range of boat owners and ocean enthusiasts.”
One of EPYC’s strongest supporters is Team Bad Company owner Anthony Hsieh, who owns Crow’s Nest Yacht Sales on the West Coast and is best known for his Team Bad Company line up of boats which includes a 60' BCE Viking, a 45' Rybovitch and a 38' Contender. Earlier this month Hsieh teamed up with Carmine Galati of Galati Yacht Sales and together they brought Bob Hixson, owner of the Costa Rica based 50' Viking Game On, into the membership fold.
“Bob’s an avid sportsman both on the water and off and regularly competes in fishing tournaments all over the world.” said Hsieh. “Both Bob and his Captain Tony Carrizosa have a wealth of experience in Central America and we’re all looking forward to some incredible fishing in those locations.”
“Galati Yacht Sales has a tremendous presence in Central America and EPYC has the potential to bring a huge benefit to our customers as they discover what EPYC has to offer.” Said Carmine Galati.
The Eastern Pacific Yacht Club will arrive in Cabo San Lucas October 15th to provide support for its members throughout the Los Cabos and Bisbee tournaments. “We’re really looking forward to the return of the Pacific Provider and EPYC for the 2009 Bisbee Black and Blue Tournament.” said Wayne Bisbee. “Having the ability to host the Governor of the State of Baja California last year with 350 guest, local VIP’s and media personnel was a huge boost to our image last year. Getting to do it again a second year will be tremendous”
EPYC offers memberships to boat owners as well as those who would rather forego boat ownership. Membership includes use of the ship’s game boats, 28 advanced reservation nights aboard the ship in any of the luxury suites, and unlimited access to the ship’s overflow lodging.
While the first ship will cruise between Mexico and Panama, EPYC plans to expand its fleet to three ships within the next five years, providing access as far north as Alaska and as far south as South America. All existing members will have the same access to each additional ship.
