On Friday, August 2, 2o24, the East Cape Offshore fleet crowded the Start Line as Wayne Bisbee

counted down the final seconds until the start –“TEN, NINE, EIGHT, SEVEN, SIX, FIVE, FOUR,

THREE, TWO, ONE,” and the roar of the fleet’s engines going full throttle was deafening! Most of

the fleet headed south again in search of the winning fish. There were plenty of Jackpots to

compete for.

Reports of released fish kept Axel Valdez and his teammate, Jill Christensen, busy as they fielded

the radio and cell phone calls throughout the day.

By late afternoon, there had been zero Black Marlin, 29 Blue Marlin, 1 dorado, 17 Sailfish, 0 Spearfish,
