Tournament Rules

These general rules apply to all Bisbee's tournaments. It is the sole responsibility of all participants to know and abide by these regulations.

Bisbee's East Cape General Tournament Rules

Section 1: General Tournament Rules

1.1 Agreement to Rules: Rules, including published rules in print or on the Bisbee's website (www.bisbees.com), are subject to change prior to the start of the tournament. Additional instructions are given at the Captains'/Anglers' Meeting for each event, where attendance by at least one team member is mandatory. It is the sole responsibility of all Participants to know and abide by the tournament rules.

Binding Acceptance: By registering for, paying the entry fee for, or participating in any capacity in a Bisbee's Tournament, each Participant individually and on behalf of their heirs, assigns, and personal representatives agrees to be bound by the entirety of these tournament rules—including, without limitation, the Release of All Claims (Rule 7.4), the Indemnification provision (Rule 7.5), the Assumption of Risk, and the Media Participation provision (Rule 7.6). Registration and/or payment of entry fees constitutes full acceptance of all terms and conditions contained herein, regardless of whether the Participant has signed a separate document. Participants further accept that all decisions made by the Tournament Organizers are final, non-appealable, and nonjusticiable.

1.2 Nature of Tournament: The Bisbee's Tournaments are fishing competitions. Participants enter at their own risk and understand the possibility exists that there may be no winners if no qualifying fish are caught.

1.3 Standard Penalty Clause: Any violation of these rules resulting in disqualification means the entire team is disqualified from the event and forfeits any and all entry money, prizes, and prize money. All disqualification penalties referenced throughout these rules invoke this clause.

1.4 Sportsmanlike Conduct: All Participants are expected to maintain a reasonable and sportsmanlike demeanor throughout the tournament. Unsportsmanlike or threatening conduct towards the tournament committee, other Participants, or any other behavior which the tournament committee deems inappropriate, in their sole discretion, will result in immediate disqualification subject to Rule 1.3.

1.5 Communications and Tournament Standings: The dedicated VHF radio channel, backup VHF channel, and telephone numbers used to contact Radio Control and Tournament Officials are provided during the Captains'/Anglers' Meeting and on the tournament's VHF radio channel prior to the start of fishing. Tournament standings are broadcast every morning over the radio.

Section 2: Definitions

The following terms are used throughout these rules and carry the specific meanings defined below:

2.1 Participants: All participating anglers, captains, crews, and guests entered in the tournament and onboard the vessel during tournament days.

2.2 Billfish: Blue marlin, black marlin, striped marlin, sailfish, and spearfish. All striped marlin, sailfish and spearfish are eligible for catch and release only.

2.3 Gamefish: Dorado (Dolphinfish), yellowfin tuna, and bigeye tuna. Gamefish are eligible for weigh-in categories.

2.4 Leader / Leader Connection: The wire or heavy monofilament section connecting the hook to the main fishing line. A "leader connection" refers to the point where the leader meets the main line or swivel.

2.5 Wireman: The crew member who handles the leader to bring a hooked fish alongside the boat for release or boating.

2.6 Release Color Card: A colored card designated for each fishing day, announced via radio before the Shotgun Start. The card must appear in release video footage to verify the correct fishing day.

2.7 Tail Tag: A numbered identification tag, supplied at registration, that must be attached to each boated gamefish intended to be weighed and recorded on the gamefish log.

2.8 Shotgun Start: The official start of each fishing day, signaled by the firing of a start flare at 6:30am. All boats must be behind the designated start line prior to the flare.

2.9 Radio Control / Tournament Control: The official tournament communications center that records catches, verifies release times, and serves as the official timekeeper for all tournament activities.

2.10 BVBR: Buena Vista Beach Resort, the primary tournament location of the official weigh station.

2.11 FADs: Fish Attracting/Aggregating Devices, whether floating or affixed to the ocean floor.

Section 3: Eligible Species, Tackle, and Methods

3.1 Billfish Species and Minimum Weights: Blue marlin and black marlin minimum weight is 300 lbs. Black or blue marlin weighing less than 300 lbs. are not eligible for cash awards. All marlin weighing less than 300 lbs. are awarded zero points and also penalized 25 points plus two points for every pound under 300.
EXAMPLE: A 290 lb. blue marlin would be awarded 0 points and be penalized 25 points plus 20 points (2pts. x 10lbs.), making the total points for the fish negative forty-five (-45) points.
All of a team's negative points from all of their non-qualifying fish will be combined and deducted from the team's largest qualifying black or blue marlin.
This pertains to the tournament overall prize categories only and not daily jackpots. Striped marlin, sailfish, and spearfish are eligible for catch and release only.

3.2 Gamefish Species and Minimum Weights: Dorado (Dolphinfish), yellowfin tuna, and bigeye tuna are eligible for weight categories. The minimum weight for yellowfin or bigeye tuna is 40 lbs. The minimum weight for Dorado is 30 lbs.

3.3 Bait and Lures: Dead bait, live bait, lures, and any combination thereof are permitted in this tournament.

3.4 Hooks: Natural dead and live bait must be rigged with non-offset circle hooks only. Artificial lures without natural bait may be rigged with conventional J-hooks.

3.5 Line Restrictions: 130-pound-test is the maximum; tournament or non-tournament lines are eligible. If the stated line test is 130-pound or less on the label, it is allowed in the tournament. Wire lines are prohibited.

3.6 Pre-Tournament Bait Fishing Restrictions: Bait fishing is allowed until 6:15am on all three fishing days. No fishing lines of any kind may be in the water after 6:15am until the Shotgun Start at 6:30am.

3.7 FADs Prohibition: Teams may not place FADs (Fish Attracting/Aggregating Devices) prior to or during the tournament, whether floating or affixed to the ocean floor.

3.8 Drone and Spotter Plane Restrictions: Drones and privately hired spotting planes are not permitted to be flown during fishing hours. Special exceptions may be granted for promotional purposes only.

3.9 Hand-offs Between Vessels: From the start of fishing to the end of the tournament's fishing hours, no vessel entered in the tournament may be involved in the handing off or receiving of anything from another vessel—whether that vessel is entered in the tournament or not—or any other entity of any sort, including bait receivers. The Tournament Organizers may grant special permission to waive this rule if someone's personal safety or health is at risk.

Section 4: Tournament Schedule and Boundaries

4.1 Shotgun Start: The official start of each fishing day is the Shotgun Start at 6:30am, signaled by the firing of a start flare. Boats must be behind the start line prior to the Shotgun Start. The start line is defined at the Captains'/Anglers' Meeting and over the tournament's VHF radio channel on each fishing morning.

Any boat not clearly behind the start line before the official start time is disqualified from that day's fishing. A second start-line violation results in disqualification from the entire event.

4.2 Fishing Hours: Fishing hours are 6:30am to 4:00pm each day. A fish hooked prior to the end of fishing may be fought until boated, released, or lost.

4.3 Extended or Shortened Fishing Hours: The Tournament Organizers reserve the right to change starting and ending fishing times to coincide with weather, tides, and improved probability of better fishing conditions. Fishing hours will not be changed during the tournament unless all teams are included and no qualifying fish have been caught and/or released.

4.4 Fishing Boundaries: Teams must fish within a 50 nautical-mile radius from 23°38.894′N, 109°40.871′W. Should a hooked fish cross the boundary line, the fish may be played outside of the boundary until caught or released. Fish hooked outside of the tournament boundaries are not eligible for the tournament.

Section 5: Scoring and Video Verification

5.1 Reporting Catches and Official Time: All hookups, releases, and boated fish are to be reported to Tournament Control along with the assigned team number and/or name, angler name, and fish species. Tournament Control will verify the information and provide a release or boated time, which must be recorded on the daily scorecard and turned in at the end of the fishing day. If a tournament boat is out of range, the catch must be relayed via VHF radio or cell phone as soon as possible. Tournament Control's time is the official time for the start, catch, and end of fishing each day without exception. Any team intentionally reporting wrong information to Radio Control for the purpose of altering tournament standings or results is subject to disqualification.

5.2 Official Billfish Release: A billfish is considered officially released when the leader connection or swivel is wound to the tip of the rod, or when a person on the boat touches the leader while the fish is hooked.

5.3 Billfish Release Video Verification: All teams must provide their own video equipment and know how to operate it to verify billfish releases. Do not delete any video taken during fishing hours, even if it does not include the necessary elements and will not be used to prove a catch. To score an official release, the video footage must include sufficient footage to:

Clearly identify the species of the fish while hooked.
Clearly identify the angler of the fish while hooked.
Clearly show the leader wound inside the rod tip or the swivel touching the rod tip while the fish is still hooked, OR a team member, angler, or crew touching the leader while the fish is still hooked.
Identify the Release Color Card for that fishing day (designated on the radio before the Shotgun Start).
Identify the time and date of the catch. Teams may video the time and date on their GPS or smart phone.
Show the fish has been fully released.

Equipment and Connectivity: The tournament will provide digital card readers for viewing releases. Cell phone and iPad video will be accepted. Teams are solely responsible for providing any proprietary cables, adapters, card readers, or other connections necessary for tournament officials to view their video files. If a team's video cannot be reviewed due to the team's failure to provide the required connections, the catch will not be scored.

5.4 Species Determination Fallback: In the event a fish is identified as a billfish but the exact species cannot be determined from the video, the team will be awarded striped marlin, sailfish/spearfish points.

5.5 Video Review: Release videos are reviewed at Tournament Headquarters. Judging does not take place at the weigh station. Any release videos posted on the Bisbee's website are for entertainment purposes only, and not all release videos are posted.

5.6 Billfish Scorecards: Scorecards for all fishing days will be given to teams at registration. All billfish must be recorded on the Billfish Scorecard (gamefish do not need to be recorded on the scorecard). Scorecards must be signed by the Boat Captain indicating agreement with the information as recorded. Scorecards must be turned in at the video check-in, or a photo uploaded via the CatchStat mobile app—or WhatsApp on the same day the fish were caught, prior to the video verification station closing time (9:00pm). If you did not catch a billfish, you do not have to turn in a scorecard. Scorecards are compared to radio logs for verification. Any team intentionally recording wrongful information on the scorecards for the purpose of altering tournament standings or results is subject to disqualification.

5.7 Electronic Submission (CatchStat): Electronic submission of video verification and scorecards is available via the CatchStat mobile app (iOS/Android) or via the web at https://bisbees.catchstat.com. To use it, a team member's email must be on the team roster and correctly linked in CatchStat so that the "My Teams" page is visible after sign-in. If you cannot access My Teams, contact Tournament Control to have your email linked. No additional videos or photos will be accepted after the video verification station closes.
Note: CatchStat provides live scoring updates for entertainment purposes only. Live content on CatchStat does not replace and may not reflect official tournament standings or payout amounts.

5.8 Gamefish Video and Tagging: Tagging of a gamefish (tuna and dorado) to be weighed must be captured on video. After successful boating of the fish, a Tail Tag must be attached and the tail tag number captured on video. The species and tag number must be recorded on the gamefish log and presented to officials upon arrival at the weigh station. Tail tags will be supplied at registration.

5.9 Billfish Point Values:

Section 6: Weigh-In Procedures and Ties

6.1 Weigh Station Hours and Deadline: Weigh station hours are 2:00pm to 9:00pm. Any team wishing to weigh marlin or gamefish or turn in release videos must arrive by 9:00pm for that day. All boats must be within anchorage area in front of weigh station on each fishing day, as verified by a Tournament Observer. The weigh station will continue to weigh fish for all boats that arrive prior to the 9:00pm deadline.

6.2 Daily Limits: Teams may bring one marlin per angler and a maximum of two marlin per boat per day. Teams may bring one (1) of each gamefish species to the weigh station per fishing day.

6.3 Weigh-In Process: Fish to be weighed must be presented to the weigh station on the same day they are caught. All fish must be weighed at the tournament's official weigh station, and fish will be weighed in the order that teams arrive at the scale. The angler must remain with the fish during the entire weigh-in process. Before leaving the scales, the angler must verify weight information, sign the Weigh-In Form, and provide a telephone number where they can be reached. Fish must be brought to the scales on the boat on which they were caught. The rod, reel, line, leader, lure, and hook(s) must accompany each fish to be weighed and presented to the Weighmaster.

6.4 Fish Handling and Mouth-Seal Policy: Any fish brought to the weigh station may have its mouth sealed closed. However, once the Weighmaster has raised the fish on the scale, the angler will be asked to remove whatever is sealing the mouth closed and clip any external leader material to the outer edge of the fish's mouth. Except for artificial lures, nothing will be pulled from inside the fish. Whatever may fall from the fish due to gravity remains out when determining the fish's weight. A team intentionally manipulating a fish for the purpose of altering tournament standings or results is subject to disqualification.

6.5 Breaking Ties:
Release Categories: Point ties in the Release Categories are broken by the official time that the final releases were made to obtain the final number of points. The first team to reach the tying number of points is the winner.
Marlin and Gamefish Division: In the event of a tie by weight in the marlin or Gamefish Division, the tied teams will split the award and the next award position.

Section 7: Enforcement, Protests, and Legal

7.1 Participant Eligibility and Representations: By registering for or participating in the tournament, each Participant represents and warrants that: (a) they are at least 18 years of age, or if under 18, that a parent or legal guardian has provided written consent and assumes responsibility on their behalf; (b) they are physically fit and capable of participating in offshore deep sea fishing activities; and (c) they are not aware of any medical condition that would create an unreasonable risk to themselves or others during the tournament. The Tournament Organizers reserve the right to require proof of age or written parental/guardian consent for any Participant who appears to be a minor.

7.2 Disputes and Protests: Participants may lodge protests against any catch which they believe was not made in accordance with these rules. All protests must be stated in writing and accompanied by a $1,000 deposit. All protests must be in the hands of the tournament's designated rules officials by 9:00pm on the day of the alleged incident. All protests will be settled on the day of the incident unless the tournament committee determines more time is necessary. If the protest is upheld, the $1,000 deposit will be refunded in full. If the protest is denied, the deposit is forfeited to the tournament. Official tournament release video footage may only be viewed by the tournament committee and the team who submitted it. Decisions of the tournament committee regarding protests are final, non-appealable, and nonjusticiable, and are binding upon all parties.

7.3 Polygraph Examination: Upon request one person from each team receiving a cash award must complete a polygraph examination. This person must have been directly involved with either the release or the capture of the fish (angler, captain, or wireman). The final selection of the person to receive the examination is made by Tournament Officials. Failure to comply, or failing the examination, results in disqualification. The tournament reserves the right, at its discretion, to polygraph multiple team members but does not guarantee that it will polygraph more than one person.

7.4 Release of All Claims and Assumption of Risk: (This section should be carefully read by each Participant.) As set forth in Rule 1.1, by registering for, paying the entry fee for, or participating in the Bisbee's East Cape Offshore Tournament ("the Tournament"), each Participant hereby releases, forever discharges, and agrees to hold harmless the Tournament, Bisbee's East Cape Offshore Tournament, Inc., Bisbees Tournaments, CatchStat, Buena Vista Ocean Front and Hot Springs Resort, and their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, volunteers, partners, members, sponsors, and/or attorneys (collectively the "Releasees") for any and all losses, claims, or demands of any kind whatsoever arising from the negligence of the Releasees or from any other cause connected with, or occurring during the Tournament. Each Participant further acknowledges and agrees that activities relating to deep sea fishing are extremely dangerous and involve the risk of serious injury or death. With full knowledge of these risks, each Participant voluntarily assumes full responsibility for the risk of bodily injury or death due to the negligence or gross negligence of the Releasees or any other cause connected with or occurring during the Tournament. This release is binding upon each Participant and their heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns.

7.5 Indemnification: Each Participant agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Releasees (as defined in Rule 7.4) from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) the Participant's breach of these tournament rules; (b) the Participant's negligent or intentional acts or omissions during the tournament; or (c) any third-party claim resulting from the Participant's conduct during the tournament. This indemnification obligation survives the conclusion of the tournament.

7.6 Media Participation: The Participants specifically agree that any photograph, motion picture, or audio recording in which they appear or are heard may be used by Tournament Organizers for any purpose whatsoever including, but not limited to, resale, advertising, and promotional material without compensation or restriction of any kind.

7.7 Governing Law and Jurisdiction: These tournament rules and any disputes arising out of or related to the tournament shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Mexico. The Participants irrevocably consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Los Cabos, Mexico for the resolution of any disputes arising under these rules or in connection with the tournament. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Tournament Organizers reserve the right to seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.

7.8 Severability: If any provision of these tournament rules or the Release of All Claims is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, such finding shall not affect the validity, legality, or enforceability of the remaining provisions, which shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid or unenforceable provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable while preserving the original intent of the parties.

Section 8: Weather, Cancellations, and Refunds

8.1 Weather Cancellations and Complete Tournament: Should any government officials beyond the control of the Tournament Organizers cancel any scheduled tournament fishing day(s) because, in their judgment, unsafe conditions exist at sea, resumption of fishing will be announced by 6:00am the following morning on the tournament's VHF radio channel and posted on the tournament's website. A resumption of fishing announcement by the Tournament Organizers does not ensure the safety of any Participant. Whether to fish or not must be based solely on the team's own judgment, taking into consideration the prevailing conditions, the seaworthiness of their vessel, and the crew's seamanship skills.

All attempts will be made to fish as many days as possible, but as little as one day of fishing or any part thereof constitutes a complete tournament. No additional fishing days will be added to a tournament due to the cancellation of any fishing day(s).

8.2 Full Tournament Cancellation Refunds: If the tournament is canceled prior to any portion of the scheduled fishing days for reasons beyond the control of the Tournament Organizers, the portion of Base Entry fees that were allocated for cash awards and all of the optional category monies will be refunded, less the tournament's administrative fees, by check within four weeks to the Team Contact—one check per team. Teams may choose to roll their refund amount to any of the following year's events.

8.3 No Qualifying Fish Caught Refunds: In the event no qualifying fish are caught during the tournament, the entry fees that were allocated for cash awards are refunded, less the tournament's administrative fees, by check within four weeks to the Team Contact—one check per team. Teams may choose to roll their refund amount to any of the following year's events.

Reglas Generales del Torneo Bisbee's East Cape

Sección 1: Reglas Generales del Torneo

1.1 Aceptación de las Reglas: Las reglas, incluidas las publicadas en forma impresa o en el sitio web de Bisbee's (www.bisbees.com), están sujetas a cambios antes del inicio del torneo. 1.2 Naturaleza del Torneo: Los Torneos Bisbee's son competencias de pesca. Los Participantes participan bajo su propio riesgo y entienden que existe la posibilidad de que no haya ganadores si no se capturan ejemplares que califiquen.

1.3 Cláusula de Penalización Estándar: Cualquier violación de estas reglas que resulte en descalificación significa que el equipo completo queda descalificado del evento y pierde todo derecho a cualquier inscripción, premio y dinero de premios. 1.4 Conducta Deportiva: Se espera que todos los Participantes mantengan un comportamiento razonable y deportivo durante todo el torneo. 1.5 Comunicación y Tablero de Posiciones: El canal de radio VHF dedicado, el canal VHF de respaldo y los números telefónicos utilizados para contactar a Radio Control y a los Oficiales del Torneo se proporcionan durante la Junta de Capitanes/Pescadores y en el canal de radio VHF del torneo antes del inicio de la pesca. Sección 2: Definiciones

2.7 Etiqueta de Cola (Tail Tag): Una etiqueta de identificación numerada, suministrada en el registro, que debe colocarse en cada pez de caza subido a bordo que se pretenda pesar y registrar en la bitácora de peces de caza.

2.8 Disparo de Salida (Shotgun Start): El inicio oficial de cada día de pesca, señalado por el disparo de una bengala de salida a las 6:30 am. Todos los barcos deben estar detrás de la línea de salida designada antes de la bengala.

2.9 Radio Control / Control del Torneo: El centro oficial de comunicaciones del torneo que registra las capturas, verifica los tiempos de liberación y funge como cronometrador oficial de todas las actividades del torneo.

2.10 BVBR: Buena Vista Beach Resort, la ubicación principal del torneo y de la báscula oficial.

2.11 FADs: Dispositivos de Atracción/Agregación de Peces, ya sean flotantes o fijados al fondo del océano.

Sección 3: Especies Elegibles, Equipo y Métodos

3.1 Especies de Picudos y Pesos Mínimos: El peso mínimo del marlín azul y del marlín negro es de 300 lbs. El marlín negro o azul que pese menos de 300 lbs. no es elegible para premios en efectivo. Todo marlín que pese menos de 300 lbs. recibe cero puntos y además se penaliza con 25 puntos más dos puntos por cada libra debajo de 300.
EJEMPLO: Un marlín azul de 290 lbs. recibiría 0 puntos y sería penalizado con 25 puntos más 20 puntos (2 pts. x 10 lbs.), resultando en un total de cuarenta y cinco puntos negativos (-45) para el pez.
Todos los puntos negativos de un equipo, provenientes de todos sus ejemplares no calificados, se combinarán y se deducirán del marlín negro o azul calificado más grande del equipo.
Esto corresponde únicamente a las categorías de premios generales del torneo y no a los jackpots diarios. El marlín rayado, el pez vela y el pez espada son elegibles únicamente para captura y liberación.

3.2 Especies de Peces de Caza y Pesos Mínimos: El dorado (Dolphinfish), el atún aleta amarilla y el atún ojo grande son elegibles para las categorías de peso. El peso mínimo para el atún aleta amarilla u ojo grande es de 40 lbs. El peso mínimo para el dorado es de 30 lbs.

3.3 Carnada y Señuelos: Se permite carnada muerta, carnada viva, señuelos y cualquier combinación de estos en este torneo.

3.4 Anzuelos: La carnada natural muerta y viva debe armarse únicamente con anzuelos circulares sin desviación (non-offset). Los señuelos artificiales sin carnada natural pueden armarse con anzuelos J convencionales.

3.5 Restricciones de Línea: El máximo es línea de prueba de 130 libras; se aceptan líneas de torneo o no de torneo. Si la prueba de línea indicada en la etiqueta es de 130 libras o menos, se permite en el torneo. Las líneas de alambre están prohibidas.

3.6 Restricciones de Pesca de Carnada Previa al Torneo: La pesca de carnada está permitida hasta las 6:15 am los tres días de pesca. Ninguna línea de pesca de ningún tipo puede estar en el agua después de las 6:15 am hasta el Disparo de Salida a las 6:30 am.

3.7 Prohibición de FADs: Los equipos no podrán colocar FADs (Dispositivos de Atracción/Agregación de Peces) antes ni durante el torneo, ya sean flotantes o fijados al fondo del océano.

3.8 Restricciones de Drones y Aviones de Avistamiento: No se permite volar drones ni aviones de avistamiento contratados de forma privada durante las horas de pesca. Pueden otorgarse excepciones especiales únicamente con fines promocionales.

3.9 Pasando Objetos entre Embarcaciones: Desde el inicio de la pesca hasta el final de las horas de pesca del torneo, ningún barco inscrito en el torneo podrá involucrarse en pasar o recibir objeto alguno de otro barco —esté o no inscrito en el torneo— ni de ninguna otra entidad de cualquier tipo, incluidas las pangas carnaderas. Los Organizadores del Torneo podrán otorgar permiso especial para eximir de esta regla si la seguridad o la salud personal de alguien está en riesgo.

Sección 4: Calendario del Torneo y Límites

4.1 Disparo de Salida: El inicio oficial de cada día de pesca es el Disparo de Salida a las 6:30 am, señalado por el disparo de una bengala de salida. Los barcos deben estar detrás de la línea de salida antes del Disparo de Salida. La línea de salida se define en la Junta de Capitanes/Pescadores y por el canal de radio VHF del torneo cada mañana de pesca.

Cualquier barco que no esté claramente detrás de la línea de salida antes de la hora oficial de inicio queda descalificado de la pesca de ese día. Una segunda violación de la línea de salida resulta en la descalificación de todo el evento.

4.2 Horas de Pesca: Las horas de pesca son de 6:30 am a 4:00 pm cada día. Un pez anzueleado antes del final de la pesca podrá pelearse hasta subirlo a bordo, liberarlo o perderlo.

4.3 Extensión o Reducción de las Horas de Pesca: Los Organizadores del Torneo se reservan el derecho de cambiar los horarios de inicio y final de la pesca para que coincidan con el clima, las mareas y una mejor probabilidad de mejores condiciones de pesca. Las horas de pesca no se cambiarán durante el torneo a menos que se incluya a todos los equipos y no se haya capturado y/o liberado ningún ejemplar que califique.

4.4 Límites de Pesca: Los equipos deben pescar dentro de un radio de 50 millas náuticas desde 23°38.894′N, 109°40.871′O. En caso de que un pez anzueleado cruce la línea límite, el pez podrá pelearse fuera del límite hasta capturarlo o liberarlo. Los peces anzueleados fuera de los límites del torneo no son elegibles para el torneo.

Sección 5: Puntuación y Verificación con Video

5.1 Reportando Capturas y Tiempo Oficial: Todos los anzueleos, liberaciones y peces subidos a bordo deben reportarse al Control del Torneo junto con el número y/o nombre asignado del equipo, el nombre del pescador y la especie del pez. El Control del Torneo verificará la información y proporcionará un tiempo de liberación o de captura, el cual debe registrarse en la tarjeta de puntuación diaria y entregarse al final del día de pesca. Si un barco del torneo está fuera de alcance, la captura debe transmitirse por radio VHF o teléfono celular lo antes posible. El tiempo del Control del Torneo es el tiempo oficial para el inicio, la captura y el final de la pesca cada día sin excepción. Cualquier equipo que intencionalmente reporte información errónea a Radio Control con el propósito de alterar las posiciones o los resultados del torneo está sujeto a descalificación.

5.2 Liberación Oficial de Picudos: Un picudo se considera oficialmente liberado cuando la conexión del leader o el destorcedor se enrolla hasta la punta de la caña, o cuando una persona a bordo toca el leader mientras el pez está anzueleado.

5.3 Verificación de Liberación de Picudos con Video: Todos los equipos deben proporcionar su propio equipo de video y saber operarlo para verificar las liberaciones de picudos. No borre ningún video tomado durante las horas de pesca, aunque no incluya los elementos necesarios y no se vaya a usar para comprobar una captura. Para puntuar una liberación oficial, el video debe incluir suficiente material para:

Identificar claramente la especie del pez mientras está anzueleado.
Identificar claramente al pescador del pez mientras está anzueleado.
Mostrar claramente el leader enrollado dentro de la punta de la caña o el destorcedor tocando la punta de la caña mientras el pez sigue anzueleado, O a un miembro del equipo, pescador o tripulante tocando el leader mientras el pez sigue anzueleado.
Identificar la Tarjeta de Color de Liberación de ese día de pesca (designada por radio antes del Disparo de Salida).
Identificar la hora y la fecha de la captura. Los equipos pueden grabar la hora y la fecha en su GPS o teléfono inteligente.
Mostrar que el pez ha sido completamente liberado.

Equipo y Conectividad: El torneo proporcionará lectores digitales de tarjetas para ver las liberaciones. Se aceptará video de teléfono celular y de iPad. Los equipos son los únicos responsables de proporcionar cualquier cable propietario, adaptador, lector de tarjetas u otras conexiones necesarias para que los oficiales del torneo puedan ver sus archivos de video. Si el video de un equipo no puede revisarse debido a que el equipo no proporcionó las conexiones requeridas, la captura no será puntuada.

5.4 Criterio en Caso de Especie Indeterminada: En caso de que un pez se identifique como picudo pero no se pueda determinar la especie exacta a partir del video, al equipo se le otorgarán puntos de marlín rayado, pez vela/pez espada.

5.5 Revisión de Video: Los videos de liberación se revisan en las Oficinas Centrales del Torneo. La calificación no se realiza en la báscula. Cualquier video de liberación publicado en el sitio web de Bisbee's es únicamente con fines de entretenimiento, y no todos los videos de liberación se publican.

5.6 Tarjetas de Puntuación de Picudos: Las tarjetas de puntuación para todos los días de pesca se entregarán a los equipos en el registro. Todos los picudos deben registrarse en la Tarjeta de Puntuación de Picudos (los peces de caza no necesitan registrarse en la tarjeta). Las tarjetas deben estar firmadas por el Capitán del barco confirmando su acuerdo con la información registrada. Las tarjetas deben entregarse en el registro de video, o subir una foto mediante la aplicación móvil CatchStat —o por WhatsApp el mismo día en que se capturó el pez, antes de la hora de cierre de la estación de verificación de video (9:00 pm). Si no capturó ningún picudo, no es necesario entregar tarjeta de puntuación. Las tarjetas se cotejan con los reportes de radio para su verificación. Cualquier equipo que intencionalmente registre información errónea en las tarjetas de puntuación con el propósito de alterar las posiciones o los resultados del torneo está sujeto a descalificación.

5.7 Envío Electrónico (CatchStat): El envío electrónico de la verificación de video y las tarjetas de puntuación está disponible a través de la aplicación móvil CatchStat (iOS/Android) o vía web en https://bisbees.catchstat.com. Para usarlo, el correo electrónico de un miembro del equipo debe estar en la lista oficial del equipo y correctamente vinculado en CatchStat para que la página "My Teams" sea visible al iniciar sesión. Si no puede acceder a My Teams, contacte al Control del Torneo para que vinculen su correo. No se aceptarán videos ni fotos adicionales después del cierre de la estación de verificación de video.
Nota: CatchStat proporciona actualizaciones de puntuación en vivo únicamente con fines de entretenimiento. El contenido en vivo de CatchStat no reemplaza y puede no reflejar las posiciones oficiales del torneo ni los montos de los premios.

5.8 Video y Etiquetado de Peces de Caza: El etiquetado de un pez de caza (atún y dorado) que se vaya a pesar debe capturarse en video. Después de subir exitosamente el pez a bordo, debe colocarse una Etiqueta de Cola y capturarse en video el número de la etiqueta. La especie y el número de etiqueta deben registrarse en la bitácora de peces de caza y presentarse a los oficiales al llegar a la báscula. Las etiquetas de cola se suministrarán en el registro.

5.9 Valores de Puntos de Picudos:

Sección 6: Procedimientos de Pesaje y Empates

6.1 Horarios de la Báscula y Hora Límite: El horario de la báscula es de 2:00 pm a 9:00 pm. Cualquier equipo que desee pesar marlín o peces de caza, o entregar videos de liberación, debe llegar antes de las 9:00 pm de ese día. Todos los barcos deben estar dentro del área de fondeo frente a la báscula cada día de pesca, según lo verifique un Observador del Torneo. La báscula continuará pesando peces para todos los barcos que lleguen antes de la hora límite de las 9:00 pm.

6.2 Límites Diarios: Los equipos podrán traer un marlín por pescador y un máximo de dos marlines por barco por día. Los equipos podrán traer uno (1) de cada especie de pez de caza a la báscula por día de pesca.

6.3 Proceso de Pesaje: Los peces a pesar deben presentarse a la báscula el mismo día en que fueron capturados. Todos los peces deben pesarse en la báscula oficial del torneo, y se pesarán en el orden en que los equipos lleguen a la báscula. El pescador debe permanecer con el pez durante todo el proceso de pesaje. Antes de abandonar la báscula, el pescador debe verificar la información de peso, firmar el Formulario de Pesaje y proporcionar un número telefónico donde pueda ser localizado. Los peces deben llevarse a la báscula en el barco en que fueron capturados. La caña, el carrete, la línea, el leader, el señuelo y el/los anzuelo(s) deben acompañar cada pez a pesar y presentarse al Juez de Pesaje.

6.4 Manejo del Pez y Política de Sellado de Boca: Cualquier pez llevado a la báscula podrá traer la boca sellada. Sin embargo, una vez que el Juez de Pesaje haya levantado el pez en la báscula, se le pedirá al pescador que retire lo que sella la boca y que corte cualquier material de leader externo en el borde exterior de la boca del pez. Excepto los señuelos artificiales, nada será extraído del interior del pez. Cualquier cosa que caiga del pez por gravedad se queda fuera al determinar el peso del pez. Un equipo que intencionalmente manipule un pez con el propósito de alterar las posiciones o los resultados del torneo está sujeto a descalificación.

6.5 Desempate:
Categorías de Liberación: Los empates de puntos en las Categorías de Liberación se definen por la hora oficial en que se realizaron las liberaciones finales para obtener el número final de puntos. El primer equipo en alcanzar el número de puntos del empate es el ganador.
División de Marlín y Peces de Caza: En caso de empate por peso en la División de Marlín o de Peces de Caza, los equipos empatados dividirán el premio y la siguiente posición de premio.

Sección 7: Cumplimiento, Protestas y Legal

7.1 Elegibilidad y Declaraciones del Participante: Al registrarse o participar en el torneo, cada Participante declara y garantiza que: (a) tiene al menos 18 años de edad o, si es menor de 18, que un padre o tutor legal ha otorgado su consentimiento por escrito y asume la responsabilidad en su nombre; (b) está físicamente apto y es capaz de participar en actividades de pesca de altura; y (c) no tiene conocimiento de ninguna condición médica que cree un riesgo irrazonable para sí mismo o para otros durante el torneo. Los Organizadores del Torneo se reservan el derecho de exigir comprobante de edad o consentimiento por escrito del padre/tutor para cualquier Participante que parezca ser menor de edad.

7.2 Controversias y Protestas: Los Participantes podrán presentar protestas contra cualquier captura que consideren que no se realizó conforme a estas reglas. Todas las protestas deben presentarse por escrito y acompañarse de un depósito de $1,000. Todas las protestas deben estar en manos de los oficiales de reglas designados por el torneo antes de las 9:00 pm del día del supuesto incidente. Todas las protestas se resolverán el día del incidente, a menos que el comité del torneo determine que se necesita más tiempo. Si la protesta procede, el depósito de $1,000 se reembolsará en su totalidad. Si la protesta se rechaza, el depósito se pierde a favor del torneo. El video oficial de liberación del torneo solo podrá ser visto por el comité del torneo y por el equipo que lo presentó. Las decisiones del comité del torneo respecto a las protestas son definitivas, inapelables y no justiciables, y son vinculantes para todas las partes.

7.3 Examen Poligráfico: A solicitud, una persona de cada equipo que reciba un premio en efectivo deberá realizar un examen poligráfico. Esta persona debe haber estado directamente involucrada con la liberación o la captura del pez (pescador, capitán o marinero). La selección final de la persona que realizará el examen la hacen los Oficiales del Torneo. No presentarse, o no aprobar el examen, resulta en descalificación. El torneo se reserva el derecho, a su discreción, de aplicar el polígrafo a varios miembros del equipo, pero no garantiza que aplicará el polígrafo a más de una persona.

7.4 Responsiva de Todas las Reclamaciones y Asunción de Riesgo: (Esta sección debe ser leída cuidadosamente por cada Participante.) Conforme a lo establecido en la Regla 1.1, al registrarse, pagar la cuota de inscripción o participar en el Torneo Bisbee's East Cape Offshore ("el Torneo"), cada Participante por la presente libera, exonera para siempre y acuerda mantener indemne al Torneo, a Bisbee's East Cape Offshore Tournament, Inc., a Bisbees Tournaments, a CatchStat, a Buena Vista Ocean Front and Hot Springs Resort, y a sus respectivos funcionarios, directores, empleados, agentes, voluntarios, socios, miembros, patrocinadores y/o abogados (colectivamente los "Liberados") por todas y cada una de las pérdidas, reclamaciones o demandas de cualquier tipo que surjan de la negligencia de los Liberados o de cualquier otra causa relacionada con, u ocurrida durante, el Torneo. Cada Participante además reconoce y acuerda que las actividades relacionadas con la pesca de altura son extremadamente peligrosas e involucran el riesgo de lesiones graves o muerte. Con pleno conocimiento de estos riesgos, cada Participante asume voluntariamente la responsabilidad total del riesgo de daño corporal o muerte debido a la negligencia o negligencia grave de los Liberados o cualquier otra causa relacionada con u ocurrida durante el Torneo. Esta responsiva es vinculante para cada Participante y sus herederos, albaceas, administradores y cesionarios.

7.5 Indemnización: Cada Participante acuerda indemnizar, defender y mantener indemnes a los Liberados (según se definen en la Regla 7.4) de y contra todas y cada una de las reclamaciones, daños, pérdidas, costos y gastos (incluidos honorarios razonables de abogados) que surjan de o se relacionen con: (a) el incumplimiento por parte del Participante de estas reglas del torneo; (b) los actos u omisiones negligentes o intencionales del Participante durante el torneo; o (c) cualquier reclamación de terceros que resulte de la conducta del Participante durante el torneo. Esta obligación de indemnización subsiste tras la conclusión del torneo.

7.6 Participación en Medios: Los Participantes acuerdan específicamente que cualquier fotografía, película o grabación de audio en la que aparezcan o se les escuche podrá ser utilizada por los Organizadores del Torneo para cualquier propósito, incluyendo, pero no limitado a, reventa, publicidad y material promocional, sin compensación ni restricción de ningún tipo.

7.7 Ley Aplicable y Jurisdicción: Estas reglas del torneo y cualquier controversia que surja de o se relacione con el torneo se regirán e interpretarán de acuerdo con las leyes de México. Los Participantes consienten irrevocablemente la jurisdicción exclusiva de los tribunales ubicados en Los Cabos, México para la resolución de cualquier controversia que surja bajo estas reglas o en relación con el torneo. No obstante lo anterior, los Organizadores del Torneo se reservan el derecho de buscar medidas cautelares u otras formas de tutela equitativa ante cualquier tribunal de jurisdicción competente.

7.8 Divisibilidad: Si alguna disposición de estas reglas del torneo o de la Responsiva de Todas las Reclamaciones es declarada inválida, ilegal o inejecutable por un tribunal de jurisdicción competente, dicha declaración no afectará la validez, legalidad o exigibilidad de las disposiciones restantes, las cuales continuarán en pleno vigor y efecto. La disposición inválida o inejecutable se modificará en la medida mínima necesaria para hacerla válida y exigible, preservando la intención original de las partes.

Sección 8: Clima, Cancelaciones y Reembolsos

8.1 Cancelaciones por Clima y Torneo Completo: En caso de que alguna autoridad gubernamental, fuera del control de los Organizadores del Torneo, cancele algún día(s) de pesca programado(s) porque, a su juicio, existen condiciones inseguras en el mar, la reanudación de la pesca se anunciará antes de las 6:00 am de la mañana siguiente en el canal de radio VHF del torneo y se publicará en el sitio web del torneo. Un anuncio de reanudación de la pesca por parte de los Organizadores del Torneo no garantiza la seguridad de ningún Participante. La decisión de pescar o no debe basarse únicamente en el juicio propio del equipo, tomando en consideración las condiciones prevalecientes, la navegabilidad de su embarcación y las habilidades de navegación de la tripulación.

Se harán todos los esfuerzos para pescar la mayor cantidad de días posible, pero con tan solo un día de pesca o cualquier parte del mismo se constituye un torneo completo. No se agregarán días adicionales de pesca al torneo debido a la cancelación de algún día(s) de pesca.

8.2 Reembolsos por Cancelación Total del Torneo: Si el torneo se cancela antes de cualquier porción de los días de pesca programados por razones fuera del control de los Organizadores del Torneo, la porción de las cuotas de Inscripción Base que se asignó a premios en efectivo y la totalidad de los montos de las categorías opcionales se reembolsarán, menos las cuotas administrativas del torneo, mediante cheque dentro de cuatro semanas al Contacto del Equipo —un cheque por equipo. Los equipos podrán optar por transferir su monto de reembolso a cualquiera de los eventos del año siguiente.

8.3 Reembolsos por No Capturar Peces que Califiquen: En caso de que no se capturen peces que califiquen durante el torneo, las cuotas de inscripción que se asignaron a premios en efectivo se reembolsarán, menos las cuotas administrativas del torneo, mediante cheque dentro de cuatro semanas al Contacto del Equipo —un cheque por equipo. Los equipos podrán optar por transferir su monto de reembolso a cualquiera de los eventos del año siguiente.
