BISBEE’S RULES ADDENDUM - EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 14 TO OCTOBER 23, 2021

For the 2021 Bisbee’s Los Cabos Offshore and Bisbee’s Black & Blue Marlin Tournament

This is a change/addition to what is published in the 2021 tournament magazine’s rules regarding the points/prize money deductions for non-qualifying marlin weighing less than 300 lbs. (specifically rule #18 of the 2021 published “General Tournament Rules”).

Rule #18 remains as is, with the following change/addition:

If a team weighs a non-qualifying marlin that is 285 lbs. to 299 lbs. their negative points will only affect the “Overall Awards” categories. Their “Daily Jackpot” categories amounts will not be affected. This penalty method is exactly as the points deductions have been structured in all previous years. Basically, teams are getting a “15 lb. grace” before affecting the larger Daily Jackpot prizes.

For fish weighing 284 lbs. or less, there is no change to the currently published rules in the in the 2021 tournament rules magazine. This means that both the “Overall Awards” AND “Daily Jackpot” categories will be affected for fish weighed of this size. This is exactly as described in the currently published rule #18 under the General Tournament Rules.

ADENDUM A LAS REGLAS BISBEE’S, EFECTIVO DEL 14 AL 23 DE OCTUBRE. 2021.

Para torneos Los Cabos Offshore y Bisbee’s Black and Blue, 2021

Los Cabos Offshore Registration is finally here!

Two weeks ago, the 30-plus member Bisbee Team had everything on schedule when suddenly “Pamela,” the 16th hurricane of the season, appeared on the horizon approaching Cabo as a hurricane on Tuesday, October 12, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Thundering its way up the Pacific on a path that would have brushed the tip of Baja if it had not curved toward Mazatlan.

At first, hourly updates seemed to confirm that the threat was real. While the dire warnings persisted, some staff members had flight times that were modified.

Los Cabos Billfish Tournament (the first of three tournaments scheduled, with Bisbee Offshore and Bisbee Black and Blue following) began without a hitch with qualifying fish caught in every category on Day One! Unfortunately, the Port closed on Day Two and Day Three of the LCBT.

However, the Bisbee Tournaments are on!

Based on the current registration on Catch Stat for both events, it appears that a record turnout is a possibility for each event. We will know by tonight after Registration is over for our Los Cabos Offshore.

All activities, including Registration and weigh-ins, will be at our usual location on the Marina side of Puerto Paraiso Mall.

Stop by and catch up with old and new friends, as the team does all the “behind the curtain preparations” for the big show – assembling canopies, hanging banners, setting up the scales, filling 650 team bags with hats and buffs, plus items donated by sponsors – Baja Jerky, Pelagic, and others.  It’s a big job!

Hopefully, the exciting fishing action that existed before the storm will return on our first day of competition, beginning Friday, October 15.

See you at Registration!
