The 2019 Bisbee’s Los Cabos Offshore awards banquet was held at the Maria Corona Restaurant owned by the Jorge Gonzalez Family, where many of the 120 teams gathered Sunday evening for the great party with entertainment from the ever-popular local “Cabo Max Band” before and after the nine checks were handed out to the excited winning teams.

After dinner Wayne Bisbee and Tricia Bisbee, along Clicerio Mercado were joined by the lovely Baja Cantina girls to honor the winners and help celebrate their good fortune.

Wayne began by thanking everyone for participating in the event; he welcomed guests and recognized the dignitaries before jumping into the program.

There were 192 fish caught or released during the two-day event, including ten dorado but no qualifiers, 95 striped marlin, 61 blue marlin, ten black marlin, and one lonely spearfish.

He added that was not bad for the two-day event. Over 2,400 pounds of fish were donated by the teams to “Feeding Los Cabos Kids,” whose staff and volunteers cleaned and delivered the fish that provided an estimated 7,557 meals for the kids and their families through their efforts since 2015, they have served Children’s Rehab and feeding centers through neighborhoods in the barrios surrounding Los Cabos.

Bisbee acknowledged many of the sponsors and supporters over the years as well as new ones (which are listed on the Bisbee Tournaments website).

Then afterward, the Early Bird Drawing went to #11, “Goodman-Badman.”

Wayne added that many teamss were missed out out on the advantages offered to Early Bird entries.

Launching into the highlight of the evening for at least nine teams, he observed that looking at the amount of the check written and the number of teams competing, there were no longer any “Baby Bisbee” tournaments!
